Administrator: Add Menu Item

  1. Create a new Article (page) with the information you want on the new page.
  2. Go to MENUS – TOP MENU (or MAIN MENU) and create a new menu item.
    1. Select MENU ITEM TYPE = Articles --> Article Layout
    2. Give it a title (“Alias” will fill in by itself with the full title all lowercase, but you can type in your own to make the URL shorter)
    3. Set the PARENT ITEM you want it to be under
    4. On the right side, click “select an article” and find the article you want it to link to.
    5. SAVE!

You can change the order of the menu items. In the MENU ITEM MANAGER --> [TopMenu], click the up or down arrows in the “Order” column.

In the ADVANCED PARAMETERS you can override the default display of title, author, etc.

ALTERNATIVE: Have a page display as a collection of articles ("blog" style with the newest on top)

  1. Be sure you have created section, category and articles!
  2. Select MENU ITEM TYPE = Articles --> Category Blog Layout
  3. Give it a title (“Alias” will fill in by itself with the full title all lowercase, but you can type in your own to make the URL shorter)
  4. Set the PARENT ITEM you want it to be under
  5. On the right side, select a category of articles you want it to link to.
  6. Decide if you want the category description and image to show (you have to set this when you create the category).
  7. Decide how many articles will show the full article (default is 1), how many will just show the intro (everything before the "read more" link), how many columns you want on this page (2 is default but generally I choose 1 for easy scrolling), and how many links to earlier articles you want to see.
  8. SAVE!

In the ADVANCED PARAMETERS you can set the article order and other bits.
