"Ma Kane" is my Grandmother Kane. She was Jamima Grove Kane and my father Alfred Mayes Kane's mother. The recipe, in my dessert file, is in my mother's handwriting.
Make rich biscuit dough. Roll 1 inch thick. Put on cherries and roll up. Pinch ends together. Put in bag that has been made wet and floured. Boil 1 hour.
Sauce: Juice of 1 can cherries. Add sugar to sweeten, add butter and flour to thicken. Cook and put over pudding to serve.
